FFR Roadster Receives Supercharger by JBA Performance

Some guys are always in a quest for more power. Jeff Gaines built a very nice Factory Five Racing roadster kit and motivated it with a Ford five-liter V-8 engine. The 2,000-pound Cobra replica could get out of its’ own way with ease. Somehow though, there just wasn’t quite enough propulsion for the 90-inch wheelbase land rocket.

From carefully considering the pros and cons of adding a supercharger to the powerplant or hooking up a nitrous system for that additional oomph, Jeff finally selected installing a Kenne Bell supercharger. Choosing a speed shop to do the work was much easier. Since JBA Performance’s reputation for building fast and reliable enthusiast autos of all kinds was well known to Jeff, he got on the horn to the shop and made some inquiries.

When all was said and done, Jeff’s Factory Five roadster not only sported a Kenne Bell supercharger, JBA installed a custom cold air box and intake for the engine and installed a smaller drive pulley. There’s now 12 pounds of boost on tap, which is sufficient for chirping the tires in third gear or doing an outrageous burnout, both to the delight of tire manufacturers the world over. The moral of the story is…if you have a need for speed, JBA Performance is the answer.

Nothing like a supercharger to pick up the performance of a fairly stock Ford 5.0L. With the smaller pulley, this Kenne Bell supercharger generates 12-psi boost and tire-shredding power The Kenne Bell supercharger not only works well; it sure looks great bolted to the 5.0 V-8.
