Annual West Coast National Convention at the California
Speedway. This was the second race hosted at the speedway in
Fontana, CA. The entire JBA crew trucked it out and was welcomed
by the heat of a Fontana summer. The race included open track
days and vintage races. J's 1968 Trans Am participated in the
Trans Am vintage race, which also included invites of all makes.
The '68 qualified and ran very well, taking 3rd place.

"Phoenix Rising"
- J Bittle's '68 Ford Mustang Trans Am racer rose from
the ashes to race again.
"We see old clips of the cool '60s-era cars racing
around on the Trans Am circuits and wish we could know
the feeling of tossing that Mustang, Camaro, or whatever
around Daytona Raceway or some other hot race track. For
many of us, we just daydream about this, but Jay Bittle
of JBA Headers and JBA Performance Center in San Diego,
decided to make this dream a reality... "

2003 - Over the years the Wine Country
Classic has grown into one of the sports "must
do" events. Located in the heart of California's
wine country, the event is a mix of automotive history
and history and fine wines of the area. Great cars and
teams from the past take part year after year. J's Trans
Am performed and placed well in this race. It was a great
weekend at Sears Pt. with HMSA!

March 2003 - HMSA Monterey
This was the first race of the year for the '68 Trans Am.
Still running with its single 4 barrel intake manifold and
302 aluminum headers. When arriving at the race, the Trans
Am went through inspection and passed with flying colors.
The racecar had a good run overall. The 4 speed transmission
acted up a bit, but went through a quick fix good enough to
run. The rocker arm failed as well, but was repaired on site.
Crew included: John Motto, Austin Bittle, and John Parman.
