There is a great season of vintage racing available to former Trans Am competitors like the Hinchliff/Ross Mustang. For this year there is the added excitement of the 100th anniversary of Ford Motor Company and several celebrations have been added to upcoming events.

Fontana
The first outing for the Hinchliff/Ross Mustang was the July 4th weekend in 2002 at California Speedway. This was the goal of the entire crew from April to July and with the car in primer/tub condition and a major home remodel underway it took every waking hour to make it. Here J enters the pits to check out the set-up which was bolted back together after over 25 years of sitting.

Moving in the pits and onto the grid the 302 woke up everyone with its 3 ½” open side pipes and 12-1 compression. Note the pink West-Coast Racer tech sticker via our friends from Conneticut and National SAAC.

In the pits of Califonia Speedway the hichliff/Ross Mustang created quite a stir. One fun point was the NHRA Class stickers that were applied to the rear window, making light of the JBA Drag Team preparation of the road racing Mustang.
